Spotlight on St. Joseph's Hospital: Syracuse, NY

On September 24th St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse, NY started their CorPath Vascular Robotic Program. Four physicians, Dr. Alan Simons, Cardiac Cath Lab Director, Dr. Ronald Caputo, Dr. Michael Fischi and Dr. Ayman Iskander, all from the St. Joseph's Cardiology Group completed training and are utilizing CorPath on a daily basis. Since beginning the program, they have successfully completed more than 20 CorPath procedures on lesions of varying complexity. Prior to implementing CorPath in this cath lab, the physicians performed all wire and catheter exchanges so the staff is excited about taking on an expanded role at the scrub table while the physicians perform cases from the interventional cockpit. Several of the staff attended our recent Advanced User Training Session in October. At TCT, Dr. Caputo will be presenting the first 6 weeks experience with the CorPath System at St. Joe's during the CorPath Breakfast Symposium. Click here to view the full agenda.

CorPath Advanced User Training

On October 4th, 10 CorPath Users from across the country travelled to Corindus headquarters for our Advanced User Training Session. The users worked with our expert clinical team to develop their skills with the CorPath System throughout the day long session. Users also met with leaders from our Research & Development team to understand the mechanics of the system to further advance their knowledge. These “CorPath Roboticists” will be the key users driving advanced training at their sites as they build their robotic angioplasty programs. Corindus holds Advanced User Training Sessions for our sites on a regular basis and encourages each site to participate. If your hospital has CorPath and you are interested in attending one of our sessions, please click here to contact us.

SCAI TRIP

Lessons from SCAI Transradial Interventional Program Series

On October 12th, we had the pleasure of attending the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention’s Transradial Interventional Program in Chicago. Attendees at the day-long session gained valuable knowledge on the latest breakthroughs and best practices with transradial PCI.

Physicians also got to experience the robotic precision of CorPath when visiting the exhibit hall. In a recent blog post, Kate Stanton detailed some of the interesting topics at the session. To read the post click here.
